Rafi Sajian is a corporate specialist with extensive experience acting on corporate and financial transactions and provides counsel to international clients on domestic and cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance and governance, corporate establishment, restructuring & reorganization, joint ventures and securities matters. Rafi leads our Corporate Department and brings a breadth of Qatar law experience.
Before joining Al-Ansari & Associates, Rafi worked for more than seven years with two international law firms in Qatar. During this time, Rafi gained considerable practical experience and knowledge of Qatar laws and Ministry practice and assisted international clients to establish and negotiate their presence in the country. Rafi has also advised major educational institutions in Qatar on contentious employment matters, and provided counsel on restructuring, licensing and compliance matters.
Prior to relocating to Qatar in 2008, Rafi practiced in Lebanon for five years working for a prominent law firm in Beirut and acted on contentious and non-contentious corporate, real-estate, and commercial matters for international and regional clients and litigated major claims before the Court of Cassation.

  • Advising a major publicly traded company in Qatar in connection with a GDR listing on the London Stock exchange.
  • Assisting a major auction house to obtain an exemption from the foreign investment restrictions and establish a 100% foreign owned presence in the State of Qatar.
  • Advising a major investment company in Qatar with the acquisition of a number of prime properties in the Pearl Qatar Development.
  • Advising a multinational client in connection with the acquisition of industrial land and establishment of a 100% foreign owned manufacturing company and facility in Qatar.
  • Assisting a FTSE 100 company in relation to the global sale of its energy gas turbine business.
  • Advising a leading global design and consultancy firm in relation to its corporate restructuring and the rebranding of its business in the GCC region.
  • Advising a major construction company in Qatar in connection with the reorganization of its corporate and management structure.
  • Advising a multinational company in Qatar in connection with the acquisition of a major real estate property in the State of Qatar.
