Ahmed Al-Ahmed is a former Legal Counsel at Qatar Energy (“QE”) and a former Senior Marketer at Qatar Petroleum for the Sale of Petroleum Products Company Limited (“QPSPP”). With over 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, he specializes in commercial operations and trading of crude oil and its by-products. Ahmed excels in negotiating long-term agreements with clients and is proficient in drafting contracts, policies, procedures, and legal notices.

During his tenure at QE, he provided legal counsel for new business development activities, primarily international acquisitions and mergers (“M&A”). His responsibilities included initial opportunity screening, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and drafting of relevant agreements, as well as managing regulatory approvals and venture setup. Ahmed is also recognized as a co-author of the newly published book “Contract Law of Qatar,” available through Cambridge University Press.

  • Provided legal advice and counseling to Qatar Energy’s (“QE”) other departments and functions, including but not limited to, the Commercial and Upstream departments.
  • Managed engagement of external counsel where required in support of QE’s business development activities.

  • Ensured business continuity across legal process integration within upstream, LNG, Domestic Gas and downstream.
